He regarded the other man skeptically. "I could sneeze and they'd be impressed. Yes, that went well by the end of it. Let's not make mountains out of mole hills."
The blond hero set his club on the return table, slipping his phone out of his pocket to check the time.

He added his to the pile, looking around to find the attendants eye and give her a wave in thanks. He slipped a hand into his pocket, tipping back his head to consider their floor number as he headed for the elevator and punched at the down button outside the mini-golf's doors.
His stomach grumbled at him.
"Don't be such a stick in the mud about it. You enjoyed yourself, admit it."

He stepped into the elevator after him, leaning against the opposite wall.
"I never said I didn't. It went well. I'm just not going to play it up for more than what it is, is all. You don't have to be terribly exuberant about something just because it wasn't terrible."
He smoothed down his hair on the one side and checked something on his phone again. "It was certainly a different way to spend the evening. ...I'm looking up an alternate station to head back to so we don't need to cut through that district again. I figure we'll split ways at Central."

Kotetsu tilted off the wall, craning his neck to try to see what Barnaby was doing with his phone. "Just trying to not have a stick up my ass...."
He scratched at the back of his neck, squinting, as he made small sounds of agreement. "Guess so. I don't think there are any other stations around here unless you want to walk half-way home."

"Pardon?" Barnaby asked with a warning tone, pretending he hadn't heard precisely what Kotetsu had said.
"There should be one about a twenty minute walk away..." He frowned, that was a bit far. Perhaps not worth it.
They reached the bottom of the elevator and as the door opened he shrugged. "Whatever, its fine."

"Iya ya ya, nothing, nothing." He waved the comment away with an suddenly anxious expression, glancing at the opening doors. "Here we are! I told you, there wouldn't be any for ages. Just gotta get it over with, right?"

"Its not that long. Don't tempt me to walk there anyway." He was teasing, Tiger could recognize, but only from well-seasoned practice.
Out into the cool night air, there was still plenty of pedestrian traffic, and he stiffened already in preparation for the people-weaving required to make it back in due time. He slowed his steps to let Kotetsu take the lead- he wasn't quite sure he remembered which alley they had cut through to get to this street.

Kotetsu snorted a ha, the usually stinging comment rolling off him. Kotetsu squared his shoulders, took a breath, and dove into the crowd--
Eh?
Eh?
He paused, glancing behind him as Bunny dragged a long, and blinked at how he let him take the lead. Huh. Guess he really didn't want to be seen in the district? Snort. The sidewalks were crowded with couples, which made an older man like Kotetsu seem even more out of place in all the sparkle and glitz. He seemed to know where he was going, at least, taking them through the same alley and out onto the other, still crowded, side without the usual terrible luck he attracted like honey to flies.

It certainly made things easier letting Tiger do the work of parting the seas. Not that he didn't have his experience running around a crowded city at night, but without a real purpose it suddenly seemed more troublesome than usual.
It was a quieter walk back to the station, but more comfortable, if only perhaps because they knew their target destination existed and had forewarning of what they were walking through.
He put on the air that enforced no-real-talking on the train again, preemptively.

On the train back to the central hub, it was much less crowded. Kotetsu tossed himself down in an empty seat in front of Barnaby, and squinted at him. Right. 'Image', right. He rolled his eyes and slumped back, hand on his chin as he watched the subway walls pass outside the window--and occasionally the golden city of Sternbild, full of....buildings and stuff, quietly bored.
It wasn't a terrible ride, mostly quiet. When they reached the central platform, Kotetsu yawned and streatched a little as he got off the train, limbs feeling stiff from sitting too long. He walked with Barnaby to where they had to split at the trunstyles--one going downtown, one going uptown--and gave him a brief wave. "Good work today."

Barnaby watched him out of the corner of his eye. He knew it was difficult for Kotetsu to behave, and appreciated it the few times he succeeded.
He crossed his legs and closed his eyes, the gentle rumble of the train lulling him into a more relaxed state as they waited to arrive at Central. It had been a good night, all things considered.
He doesn't say anything but offers shoulder a breif wave back over his shoulder as the part was- it would have seemed cold and aloof if not for that small upturned edge at the corner of his lips, easy to miss.
It wasn't until ten minutes or so later that Tiger would receive a text, and could practically see the slight frown through the characters displayed on his phone.

Well wasn't that the best that he'd get out of him? Kotetsu felt satisfied as he took the trains home, getting up at one point to offer his seat to a young pregnant lady. He ended up against the windows when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
He blinked and dug it out, flipping it open. His mouth twitched.
It took more like five minutes for Barnaby to receive a reply; Kotetsu was not the best at text typing.
