Jack smirks. "Sounds like someone who ain't gettin any--"
He's cut off by the murmur that accompanies the female format robot's approach. Someone nudges him in the side and he picks up his glass, looking over and eyebrows lifting in sudden, unstoppable appreciation. He's preparing at word or two to show off for Road when instead of asking for a drink from the bar tender, she turns to them instead and says words.
Normally he'd be a little grumpy at being interrupted, but with Road there questioning his ability with the ladies, he sips form his glass and gives her an astonishingly attractive smile. "No problem at all. How can I help a lovely lady like yourself?"

Road had been at a bad angle to see her approach but nods when she speaks and answers just before Jack while the yellow wonder is still gaping. " Of course." His eyes slide back to Jack a moment, with a smile. Let's see what you've got then?
But Jack won't have much of a chance. Though the fembot speaks to him, she's apparently after something else. "If you don't mind terribly, I'd like to borrow your friend here." and her gaze moves to meet with Road's. " If that's okay with you Darlin?"

Jack's easy confidence falters, and he opens his mouth, and hten fills it with energon as he sips from it purposefully. He shoots Road a look, and his shoulders spike a little.
"Oh, perfectly alright with me, you can take 'em." He waves it off like to big deal, trying to stay smooth. Even if she's clearly got another target right now, that doesn't mean he can't leave a good impression. "If you need anything else I can do, let me know."

Oh? "Of course, it is" he smiles for her, then looks back at Jack as he stands and grins. "I'll catch up with you, friend."
But ladyhips here smiles for Jack too. "Thanks, I certainly will if I need something." Then she's turned away, heading toward the back of the bar(the area insecticons usually inhabit) with Roadrash in tow. She picks out a booth and they sit talking, to far off for anyone to hear.
"You are Roadrash right?"
Huh? She knows his name already?

Jack watches with a smile until the two are ensconced well within Insecticon territory, before he sinks down on his elbows and drinks with a certain irritable air. A friend laughs and says something about Road getting the big catch, laughter runs through the group, and Jack replies with a "Yeah, Yeah, see how long this lasts."

The look he gives is confused, he's not sure if it's a good thing or not that she knows his name. Any reputation he has worth noting isn't a good one. She could even be with that guy that cut him up over Powershot.
"Yeah...that's me. What can I do for you?"
Of course she might just like him right? Maybe the bartender gave her his name. Yeah that made sense.
But alas her answer cut off any of that.
"Well, Mr. Roadrash. I'm having just an awful time getting a hold of an old man named Torque and from what I gather, you're the closest to him. So if I want to see him, it'll just be that much faster to go through you."
Oh...well it's still pretty suspicious! "And...what are you to Torque? he avoiding you or something?"
She smiled. " Just an old friend, I don;t think he's avoiding me. At least I would hope he's not." The way she spoke suggested " old friend was and understatement.
Oh....oh... he'll try not to look to disappointed. Tries and finds a reason not to for long, a smile breaking across his face. So the old dog did have interests other than boxing huh? Good for him, a damn fine catch! He'll make good use of the teasing opportunity with his mentor later.
" I do think I can help you out,...uh?" He drags the pause hoping she'll fill in the missing name. and she does.
"Spitfire, dear. You can call me Spitfire."
and how!

Jack ignored most of the swirl of conversation around him, moving on now to about recent up and comers in the races, keeping what he thought was a subtle eye on Road. He would nod and go uhuh sometimes to act like he cared about what was going on, but the little drama playing out held far too much relevance to his pride.
Road had been playing the cool guy until something hiccuped. Because he wasn't listening and was watching, he caught the moment of deflation, the pause a little too long before a smile broke out.
Ha!
Ha!
Now wasn't that not exactly the right sign to be giving? He felt mildly better.

Road stays back at the table another ten-fifteen, chatting the lady bot up. She even laughs once or twice. When they stand she leans back over the table briefly to scrawl something out on a napkin and hand it over to Road, who pockets it. She follows back to smile at Jack again "Sorry for interrupting" before she's moving on, dropping payment for her drink with the bartender before she heads out. Road's sunk back to his previous seat near Jack, thoughtfully considering the beer he left behind and if it's worth drinking when it's had time to warm past how he likes it.

Well.
That totally ruined his night.
Jack decided that no matter what Road said, he didn't care, it was totally a rip off, not even counting. Didn't count. She was leaving Road at the bar alone and that totally was all that mattered. The only thing. It was the point of the exercise
He tilts his head to her and salutes the femme with his glass. "Don't worry about it," he tells her with a tipped smile, tipping back his glass.
"...Seems she didn't have much use for ya, huh?" Jack says after she's sashayed out of sight, to Road, idly. Doesn't care, yeah, doesn't care at all.

Well just because she really had no interest in him doesn't mean he can't mess with Jack a little over it. " Nah she has use of me, man. Just...later. Not here." He's grinning, the usually stupid grin.

"What!" Jack scowls at him, throwing up one hand with his glass. "Later? She was totally not into you, man."

He knows that's true, she's interested in Torque for whatever reason, but he'll play this out as long as he can. "Then why do I have her number?"

Jack stared at him a minute, honestly bewildered, and then huffed. He drew himself up, arms crossed. "Yeah? Prove it."

He could be pure confidence here. he did have her number.Purely to contact her about Torque but he still had it. "Sure, sure." He dipped into his pocket and produced the napkin she'd written the contact information on, leaving a finger purposely over a number or two so Jack couldn't try memorizing it.

Jack had expected a bluff, not to be called on it. He leaned over, stared, and most of the number blinked into his memory. He scowled, throwing himself back against the bar. "Yeah, yeah, we'll see if you have the guts to call it."
