Normally at this time he would usually head back inside, but Mirage probably isn't ready to go in. He's just sat down after all! So Hound also sinks down to settle himself in the dirt. " Thank you, too."

"For?..." he leads, but isn't sure he wants to hear the answer, so he continues without allowing time for it to be considered. "It's a pity we never had such sunsets on Cybertron. I would have appreciated them more, then."

He answers regardless. "For not rejecting me." He continues on right after. " You could try watching one in a city, it won;t be right I know but it may be more what you're looking for."

"Perhaps." It won't be right at all. Being surrounded by the crass, shoddy little shantytowns these little beings erect won't encourage him at all; it'll likely do exactly the opposite, he thinks, uncharitably. It'll likely remind him what a bloody hellhole he's trapped on. Fantastic idea, really, just fantastic.
He should be snorting at the other mech's ignorant blather, but he's confused to find his mouth twisting awkwardly; it takes him a moment to realize, with some dismay, that it's an expression of achy gratitude. Something's twisting in his chest.
"Maybe it will," he manages. "Maybe I should...make myself more familiar with the towns nearby. I haven't---I haven't explored anything."
Why is he saying that? Why is he saying that, with a sort of mild note of concern, in a way that suggests he could use someone to show him around...someone like a scout, perhaps?

Mirages interest, mild as he makes it out to be is encouraging. "You really should, it's good to know the area's around us at least. Tomorrow I can should you the closest cities on the data pad, and you can see which you want to check out first?"
Mirage's alt mode really wasn't the most inconspicuous to be driving around a high population area, but Hound supposed it would just get a few looks at worst. It was and attractive car.

He doesn't want to agree; he's certain that, come tomorrow, he'll be regretting his friendliness to this mech, regretting his tacit agreement to be comfortable acquaintances. He'll be wanting to regain his ground as an unapproachable, distantly respectful mech.
So he's not really sure why he's nodding. "I'd appreciate that. I need to stretch out my wheels."

He smiled, lifting himself from the dirt and offering Mirage and hand up. "Alright then, I'll tell Prowl."

Hound has a firm grip. It's a comforting anchor as it pulls Mirage up, and he holds it for a second longer.
"Thanks."

"Not a problem." He let's his hand slip out of Mirage's and turns heading back into the Ark. " Find me tomorrow and we'll pick a place." Although it's certain he'd have a much easier time find Mirage than Mirage him, it seems best to give the other bot a chance to change his mind.
