His eyes followed D'nel's move again, then switched to the sky. "Orsith tells me that." and he lifts a hand to indicate the sky. " is what you do. Weather watch?"

A fond smile broke out past the grin as he glanced at T'rey, then leaned in a little to look along the line T'rey pointed to the sky. "Yes. I measure things and study patterns, and I can predict the weather. Its a little like how a long time ago they made the thread-fall maps." He's animated as he talks, eyes bright. "I want to try to get the chance to get some information from AIVAS about it. I bet there's records about it."

His enthusiasm is encouraging he'll do well after the pass, already establishing himself a future trade. T'rey on the other hand, had yet to find interest in a new career path.
"Have you not had time to pop into Landing and look? I'm sure their must be that sort of information, I can't think of much that those consoles don't hold information on."

"There's a lot of demand to look at the AIVAS records." D'nel sighed, leaning back on his hands. His feet couldn't quite remain still, and he restlessly crossed his legs as he absently catalogued a cloud that skittered across the sky. "And during the pass we need all hands on desk, and Saralin likes to have me on hand to fetch things when she can't guilt a brown into a hold stop. I spend a lot of time out in the middle of nowhere."

He frowned. "There is, but everyone has a right to it. Keep trying." Oh? Who's that. He has a lady friend then? "Who's that? Family?" He could assume...family often took advantage of having a rider in the family if they could.
Be a dear and see if you can find out if any of our Weyr is stationed at Landing? The Bronze sighed outwardly which could be taken as satisfaction with his meal. Internally, he sounded amused. As you wish. I will ask.

"Ha ha, oh, no." He shook his head, turning his face up to the sky. "Well. Sort of. She looked after me a lot when I was just a foundling."

"Ah, I see. I think that still pretty much counts as family doesn't it?" Good to know.
Leyith has been doing transport to and from Landing. She is here today for fall. Orsith craned his neck around to look at the rim where dragons sat restless, awaiting the fall.

Coranth was restless too, head lifting at Orsith's motion to look in the same direction. D'nel rocked up to his feet, feeling a subtle shift to the wind. He set one hand to his goggles, a thoughtless gesture as he studied the horizon too.
"I guess it does," he smiles smoothly, looking down at T'rey. "All the Weyr's family, isn't it?"

"The best a man could ever ask for." T'rey also brought himself to his feet, moving to Orsith's leg to double check the bandage. He didn't want to loose it mid air and have to go mind more.

D'nel was redoing the toggles for his flight leathers, squinting up at the distant rim. Anticipation hung heavy like fog over the weyr. Weyrlings were flying bags of firestone to the ridge, and the deep rumbles of anxious dragons echoed now and then.
Coranth had rolled to his feet, stretching.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." He flashed a smile at T'rey. "See you after the fall."

He smiled, hauling himself onto the Bronzes back and buckling a single strap for the straight flight back to his weyr. "Safe flight!" Then Orsith was gathering himself and pushing off for the downstroke. I will listen when they fly. You my friend, will be asleep.

"You too!" D'nel saluted him as the greater bronze gathered himself for flight, watching them take off with a hand shielding his eyes and his teeth bright in his grin. Coranth swung his head around to watch as well, restless behind him.
It is nearly time to fly. I do not like waiting.
D'nel set a calming hand on Coranth's jaw.
Not much longer, beloved. Just a little waiting.

It had been difficult to get Orsith settled. It took petting, oiling, and sweet talking on top of the full belly to sooth him into napping when he insisted that he'd rather listen in on their wingleader and Coranth during the fall. After that grand effort he decides that his own food can wait a bit longer, he'll just take a moment to rest sitting on the edge of Orsith's couch with his back against the dragons haunches.

The fight against thread has taken much of T'rey's time with his efforts. It always seems shorter in the air, but it takes hours for those waiting. All is covered in an anxious quiet.
Until a chattering, frantic green dragonet comes careening into Orsith and T'rey's weyr. She flaps madly around T'rey's head, chattering and bombing at him anxiously.

He had fallen asleep right their with his dragon and startles away at the noise and buffeting wings. Wings which are soon joined by those a screeching blue who had been napping near the hearth, attaching himself to D'nels shoulder, thinking he's defending the rider from the greens sudden onslaught. "Orsith!" The damn lizards weren't going to listen to him in this state. His dragon lifted his head, examining the source of the noise. She looks to the blue rider, something is wrong. The dragon let out a sharp bark of noise to silence the lizards. D'nels blue shrunk to his neck immediately, wings tucked tight to him, and Orsith addressed the green. Be calm little one, and deliver your message.
