"Gather?" He perked up at the sound of it, eyes wide. Coranth was waiting for them on the sunning ledge, one wing half-folded to catch the warmth. His little green had wriggled out of her sleeping pouch and had already begun investiagting, and chirruped at them as they came into sight.
She glided over to him and settled on his shoulder, nuzzling his cheek. D'nel scratched her neck a little, eyes a little wide and brows lifted at the mention of it. "I didn't know there was a gather so soon。"

"Yes, the day isn't set in stone of course, the way squalls blow up out of no where down here. But there will be a gather sometime soonish in Monaco Bay." He leans on the door frame waiting to see if he should be helping with something, it might be difficult to unpack Coranth with one arm. "How do you know my dear brother?"

D'nel cross the floor, Coranth ducking down under the cave mouth and obligingly settling low to the ground. The lanky rider didn't ask for any help, reaching up and dragging down the bags one armed without any sense of impatience or distress. "Oh, T'rey?" It was a sensible question. He huffed as he dragged down the bag with his boots and clothes, glancing over at T'lyle with a smile and shoving his hair back as he straightened. "Oh, he's a wing second, I just ran into him. Orsith took some thread to his arm, and I helped your brother with the numbweed." He purposefully played it down, shrugging, recalling the story about their older brother and not wanting to alarm. "We spoke a few more times after that."

A smile. "Enough times for him to recommend me? How thoughtful of him" he says the last bit dryly. " I didn't know Orsith took a hurt, would have made that idiot come down here if I did." He let's out a mock sigh. " He never visits me."

"Not so pleased to be in his thoughts?" D'nel asks, curious as he reaches up to undo the straps for a few more bags. "It wasn't too serious, they both should already be Between worthy by now."

Eyebrows go up and his smile cracks to show teeth. "If I'm in his thoughts he should visit me! Not as if he can't in the blink of an eye." He pushes himself off the wall to step closer. " But you, I meant it wasn't thoughtful to you, I'm not anyone's first choice of helper." He sounds almost proud of that, but even as he says it he's relented and started removing bags from Coranth more swiftly than D'nel can with one arm.

Suddenly, D'nel understood a little, and he tucked a smile into the corner of his mouth as T'lyle started helping out. He just looked over at him, pointed out a heavy bag, and shifted a little out of his way. "Thanks." He didn't stop, though, determined, while Coranth sat still and patient with them. "You seem to be pretty okay to me. Don't see T'rey enough, huh? Maybe I'll mention it to him when I see him next. Eastern Weyr is lovely, T'rey!" He mimicked a bright conversation, eyes a little wide. "Really should go see it this time of year. Oh, was it your brother who lived there?"

He moved the indicated bag to the bed and came right back to work. " HA, do it. Make the bastard feel guilty he deserves it. Wing second and a bronze, he should be able to travel a bit, but me. I gotta stay. Right. Here." It's all affectionate jabbing, he doesn't seem to hold any actual resentment over it. "I'll have Cryth get on Orsith's case. That'll do it."

"I know the Weyr needs every hand they can get, but couldn't you get some time for a brief visit if you wanted it?" he asks, curious, as he swings a bag on to his bed with an oof.

He shrugged. He's unbuckling Coranth's harness now, definitely a two handed job. "They like to keep an eye on the young." Not me specifically of course, not like I was lucky to be here helping now and only because you asked for me specifically.

At first Coranth raised up on his feet, wings spreading a little at this strange rider starting to undo his straps.
Easy, easy D'nel thought at him with love, ducking in to at least help as he could one handed. He's just helping
Coranth settled, more temporarily startled than anything else, stilling as the sweaty straps were taken off.
"Well, there's reason for it I suppose," he mused. "Learning in the middle of threadfall's hectic."
He shook as the last one fell, scratching at the base of his neck.
It is nice to be out of the straps he thought pleasantly. He twisted his neck to peer at the ledge. Do you think I could have a snack?
D'nel chuckled, thumping his shoulder.

He had just stepped back, neatly out of the way of wing and limb until Coranth had settled again. "Sorry about that."He gave him a pat before he started again. He was at least genuinely kind to dragons, he'd be a fool not to. "Yes, I suppose so." He moved away once that was done. "Anything else I can do for you then?"

D'nel piled the straps on the bed, spreading them out for proper folding and storage. He sat down on the edge, looking over the small weyr. It was not bad for guest quarters, not at all, and better than scrounging on his own in the middle of nowhere.
Not that he minded the latter.
"Ha, no, thank you, I think I'm good." He gave T'lyle a smile, honest, as Coranth explored the sunning ledge with interest. "Thank you for helping."

He gave an exaggerated bow and mischievous smile. " Should you change your mind, I am at your service." He turns to leave, calling back before the door shuts. "Unless I'm busy of course!"

"I'll keep you in mind!" D'nel called after him, and shifted back on the bed as the door shut.
"Huh."
I think I like T'rey better. He says more what he means. Coranth let out a huff and spread out on the ledge.
He's not a bad kid. D'nel began putting away his things, a slow process with the poor arm. Now to figure out how to get away from the healers......
