The edge of his mouth tilts up. "And what sorts of things do you usually ask in return for stories?"

Not to be outdone he makes the hop down to D'nel, well okay maybe he has a bit more scrabble on his way down..rocks hurt. But what's important is that he makes it! "Well." He turns to look at D'nel, half smiled and eyes lightly hooded. " It really depends on who's asking." He smiles normally again. " You? For now, until I think of something better? Behave yourself! And spend a few marks at the gather!"

"Somehow I get the feeling I'm getting a discount," D'nel replied, a laugh caught in his voice, as he wandered down to where water splashed up over his feet. He avoided the sharp edges of the rocky beach with absent skill, apparently used to walking around like this. "I think that'll be an easy enough exchange to make."

"For a family friend I suppose I can sometimes be kind." He looked mournfully at the water, they'd have to fly back straight if he got wet now. "You're not bad company too, so I suppose it wouldn't be to painful to sit still long enough to recite them to you."

"Recite? Like Bard lessons?" D'nel grinned a little, wading in a little deeper until he had to roll up his pants legs to let water splash against his calves. "....Well granted I bet you'd be able to keep some of the kids to pay a lot more attention, huh."

" A good story is rehearsed and recited." Oh D'nel seems to have the right idea, he rolls his own pants up so he can get his legs in the water too. The wrinkles his nose. "I can't image kids would like me very much."

"You'd be surprised! They can sense one of their own." He turns around as he walks, finding his way through feeling the bottom with his feet, and grins with a bright glint to his eye.

T'lyle looked after him, mouth falling slightly open, then snapping shut. Well! A bit more to this when than he thought! His mouth quirks back up into a one sided smile. " We might wanna head back before you burn to a crisp, blue rider."

D'nel grins a little, eyes bright. "And you don't get a little red in the sun, fly boy?"

"Eventually! But I live in this sun. All day every day. You don't and healers'll have my head if they have to treat for for a sun scorching too!" He uses a voice of faux responsibility, smiling as he scolds.

"Doesn't mean you don't get scorched." D'nel paused in his backward walking, hands in his pockets as he leaned to one side to peer at him as if trying to find hints of red lurking on his neck or cheeks. "I don't burn that easy, even if I'm fair. So you noticed?"
A grin.

Eyebrows pop up, his face losing composure for a moment before it snapped back to something neutral. he didn't quite have a read on this rider yet...it bothered him. "Of course I noticed, I notice things, and besides that it's just an obvious thing. Northern riders come down here and burn up!

D'nel's grin gentled. He turned out to face the sea, attention caught by something on the horizon. He squinted at it, lifting a hand to shade his eyes as he studied something beyond the noise of two dragons of decent size throwing water around. "Its very considerate of you," he adds, the edge of his mouth curled. "You really are pretty considerate, aren't you."

"I am not." He shades his eyes to follow D'nel's gaze. " Don't you ever tell anyone that I am." as an afterthought "...unless they're really cute."

D'nel let his hand drop. The far horizon had only a small scattering of clouds gathering, the wind shifting to pull at the waves a little harder. He glanced back at T'lyle, still grinning a little. "What counts as cute?"
