He smiles and moves on from the knife, deciding he'd best have a good look around before getting something. "He is...both of those things."

D'nel laughs, apparently at ease with the idea now he's wrapped his brain around it. "How old is the little girl?"

"Only five." He smiled easily. He'd been so intimidated by the thought of having a daughter, but grew used to it quickly enough. He spots a tanners booth shortly ahead of them. "Is that the place?"

D'nel's absorbing this slower then he looks. He's a little idle as they walk, kinda pleased to hear T'rey's tone shift when he talks about his kids. Its nice.
He blinks, and looks up, and then smiles. "Yeah, this is the place. I got a few pieces earlier, but you never know when you need a patch, right?" He nudged T'rey with his elbow to drift closer, the pieces of tanned hide laid out for careful fondling. The proprietress was a stout woman likely deep into her forties, arms like hams and face plentiful with laugh lines.

He gives the owner a smile and greets her politely before turning an inspecting eye to the leathers on display. It was true you did never know when you'd need something like this and you'd likely get the best price at a gather. He'd glance over to see if D'nel seemed interested in anything.

D'nel leaned over, fingering some heavy leathers, occasionally giving a smile and a word to the lady. It was clear she remembered him from earlier in the day and pointed out some soft leathers good for fancy boots or pants, and he shook his head with his hand lifted with the slight smile that clearly said I've already spent too much today. He leaned back, glancing over at T'rey and catching his eye on rare chance.
He smiled suddenly, saying nothing, and pointed out a piece of particulrly nice leather for re-soling shoes.

Oops caught looking. He smiles back and politely check out the re-soling leather though he's quite sure he doesn't need any. He really should get something but what could he possibly need, he should have thought to check before leaving his weyr. The stall did have quite a few nice hides. "Anything to your tastes?"

"Nah, I'm good," D'nel replies brightly, giving T'rey's arm a thankful pat. So close to the blue riding on T'rey's shoulder, his green arched up her back and resettled her wings with a forceful rustle.

The little blue sidestepped from the pat area, head turning briefly to the green before recalling that he's ignoring her and turning his muzzle pointedly away from the green and her human.
T'rey ends up spotting a smallish shoulder bag with a firelizard imprinted over the closing flap and after some negotiation and smiles, purchasing it. it wasn't exactly cheap but it was fair enough and he didn't buy things to often. "He'd be more pleased with something like this than a new knife I think."

"Being a healer?" D'nel leans in, investigating, and his green scrambles to the shoulder farthest from T'rey and his blue. "Oh, definitely. A good thought, that."

The little blue chirrups smugly when green moves away, moving down T'rey's arm to investigate the bag himself between the two riders. He could almost be annoyed at the lizard...almost for getting between them, he's been quite happy with the little touches he's been getting that honestly probably mean nothing at all. "He'd rather have something to carry all his things in I think." T'rey seems pleased with his selection. "We can go on then if you're sure there is nothing here for you."

"Yeah, there's a fruit stand down the way." D'nel shifts back, calming his green with a touch as he smiles and glances down the row. "They've found some really neat trees down in the south continent that have managed to survive thread because of a rock overhang, they smell amazing but cost as much as a green weighs."

"Ha, is that so. Could be worse I suppose. Guess I better at least get a look at them before they're gone." His blue scrabbles back up his arm with an indignant squawk when starts to move again in the direction D'nel indicated. He has to dole out some pets an strokes to gain forgiveness for that one.

"Its worth looking at." D'nel, suddenly excited, pulls away a little in his eagerness to slip throught he crowd. D'nel never forces himself past anyone, he just isn't that sort of person, but slips in the openings between. Its slower but its clear this is interesting for him as he lead T'rey to a gathered crowd. There are baskets of the green fruit on display, a lazy looking brow fire lizard sleeping guard over one of them while a lanky young lady with hair bleached blonde from the sun showing off the rare fruit.

T'rey isn't really built for slipping through crowds but he'll excuse himself past people to get to D'nel and get a look at these fruits. He wonders...surely a fruit can't cost all that much really. Green wasn't all that attractive a color for fruit. "How much did you say these were going for?"
