The weather held and the gather was being held as scheduled. Stalls were set up in the early hours before the sun was even up to take advantage of the cooler morning weather to make sales before the strength of the afternoon shade drove everyone to the water or shaded places to sleep off the hottest part of the day.
Stalls were shaded at least in tented area's but would become stuffy quickly. Into the evening would be the most active time for all, when it would be cool enough to eat, dance, sing, and shop.

According to native advice, D'nel takes first pass of the tents during the cool of the morning, and then in the afternoon hours after the noon siesta when everyone is hot, irritable, and easy to bargain down. D'nel has an easy smile and does well with ladies who run the stalls, and ends up sharing some extra jerky with the little green for a mid-afternoon snack.
Coranth enjoys himself, taking advantage of all the distraction to wallow in empty sand pits and chase wherries, fire lizards, and anything else he can talk into a game of chase when the sun isn't baking everything. With both rider and dragon at ease, enjoying themselves, it harmonizes into a feel-good aura that D'nel exudes as he wanders around as the sun goes down. He's a stranger here, but he's already recognizing a few faces and being offered a chair at some drinking tables. Something keeps him wandering though, restless, curious to see a Monaco Gather while he's here. The arms a bit better, and with out the background hum of pain, he enjoys watching the shadow play show being put on from a cluster of young children by an old man with a humourously graveled voice. So far he hasn't found any greens for Cryth, but the night's still early yet as he sips some chilled tea and watches from the back, his shoulder braced against a nearby tent piling.

The heat when T'rey appears over Monaco Bay is suffocating. To early! We should have waited a few more hours, it's to damn hot here.
I like it, you will like it when you are on the ground and out of your jacket.
So you say..we'll see.
The bronze landed him in an open area set aside for that purpose just outside the main circle of activity. Riding clothes were quickly pulled away and stuffed into a pack on Orsith's harness.
Why don'y you go find Cryth or Coranth and have some fun?
I wish only to lay in the sun. If they want to lay with me they can find me.
The bronze does inquire after both of them to see who is doing what and maybe if there is good food nearby.

Coranth's voice rumbles with pleasant surprise. Orsith is not a very bossy bronze, and he appreciates that his rider is nice to his rider. D'nel watches picture shows. It should not be very hard to find him. Coranth streatches out on a slab of rock he's staked out. There are very nice spots on the east side of the grounds he adds, magnamious in his comfort.
D'nel grins as Coranth tells him T'rey's arrived, hiding it from strangers by a long drink.

Orsith makes a brief scan of the grounds from the air, but ultimately decides he'd rather bask while the sun is up and eat later. I will sun myself first. He relays the information he's gotten from Coranth and Cryth on their rider's location and is up to find a good sunning spot.
T'rey will friend T'lyle first, or more like T'lyle found him and so he's occupied a bit longer before the younger brother leads him to D'nel. "Oi!" T'lyle waved when he spotted the blue rider. " Look what I found."

"If you want to be honest, Coranth found him first," D'nel's correcting, but a bright smile is catching on his face and there's no stopping it. He lifts his nearly empty drink in hello, tipping it at them both, and he draws away from the end of the show to meet them before they reach the crowd and start being too loud. He looks T'rey over, getting a measure of him and his health.
His eyes alight on his face, and the grin grows. "What are you doing here?"

T'lyle sighed, as quick as he was with information he'd never be so quick as a dragon.
T'rey looked well enough. The score on his face left a scar but was long past the angry red of healing. He'd dressed appropriately for the southern weather in lighter clothing, his boots were heavy but nothing to compare to how warm typical flying boots would be in this weather. He was already smiling on the way over from his brother's badgering but he turned the grin on D'nel now. "I am here because Cryth has been relentless over the last three days, pestering Orsith at all hours that we must come. Not that I ever mind a gather... And! to ensure Monaco bay isn't tempting away Igen riders..."

D'nel laughed, startled into humour despite himself, and giving T'lyle a sly sidelong look. "Oh I don't think you're in any danger of that, no matter how charming the welcoming committee might be."

T'lyle pulls up winning smile when his brother gives him a measured look. "I've heard before that my little brother is dangerously charming..."
T'rey earns a little pout for that from his brother, not the charming part, the little part. But T'rey is no longer paying him attention.
"Gather treating you well so far, D'nel?"

D'nel chuckles, the grin threatening. "I wouldn't call it dangerous."
And then lifts a hand to scratch under his little green's chin, currently draped over his shoulder. "Oh, just fine. Took some advice and did some wandering the stalls when no one was of a mind to haggle too hard."

Oh T'rey would call it dangerous, he hadn't had enough time to speak with his brother before they'd found D'nel. He'll have to watch for an opportunity to get him alone at some point. But he could remain pleasant while D'nel was around. " A wise plan, shame I couldn't get here earlier."
His blue decided to check in then, realizing T'rey was in the company of that green. He may need protection!

Immediately the green arched up, wary, her little claws digging in sharp pinpricks through D'nel's shirt. D'nel hissed a little, shoulder wincing, and at the sensation of pain the little green immediately wound over his neck projecting a soft wavery alarm.
"Ouch. It's okay, little darling," he murmured to her, and then glacned over to T'rey and the little blue with the edge of his mouth twitching. "You're a Wing Second, surely you had important things to do?"

"To many." He answers distractedly, trying to calm his blue and convince it to go have a nap with Orsith and that he's just fine. The blue does settle but won't go, planting it's self around T'rey's neck to keep an eye on that green. "You'd think I could get a day off for a gather. But it's fine, the best of it will be the evening anyway."

D'nel chuckles, glancing at T'lyle and back to the elder brother. Standing together, he could trace the family resemblance. "As long as you are here for the prime event, right? And this way if T'lyle gets in trouble, you're around."
A grin is aimed at T'lyle's direction.

T'rey agree's that the evening is the part he wanted to be here for anyway. While T'lyle returns D'nel's grin with a wink. "I'd have to get caught to get in trouble."
