"I think its fifteen marks," D'nel mused, rising up on his toes. He's lanky, and a bit tall, and gets a look over the crowd that way. "Depends, might have gone up with all the folks clamouring for it. They've got a limited amount of people out of the holder lords. I talked with one of the boys who helps with the caravan, they're delicate so you can't even transport them Between."

He grimaced, disappointed. " That's ridiculous who would even pay that?" Well, that idea's gone right out the window. His blue makes a curious peep but stays put after being given clear thoughts that he's not to even look at that fruit. They'll get much more affordable food elsewhere.

"I know!" D'nel sinks back on his heels, looking whistfully at the fruit for a moment before shaking his head as his little green perks up with curiousity. He reached up to run his fingertips down the line of her neck to keep her close as he shifted out of the glut of crowd. "But imagine if we can cultivate it after the Pass? And trees! Paper. So much paper..."

He moves after D'nel. He'll just have to find something else... "Shame it's so delicate, but I'm sure with that kind of profit they'll find a way to protect more of those tree's even before the end of the pass. But everything should be better after." He smiles, eyeing up more stalls as they go.

"Depends on who you ask," D'nel added after a moments thought, wandering. Most of the stalls were common enough; food, jewelry, other goods. Small instruments for children. One was toys made out of stone. Another richly woven, light fabrics for making Southern appropriate clothes, using some of the new techniques the weavers guild had gotten out of AIVAS.

"Well, everyone will always have differing opinions." He shrugged. " But I don't see how anyone can't think the end of thread is for the best." He walks slower past anything that might be good for a small child but doesn't seem to find anything that appeals to him.

"Oh, its definitely for the best," D'nel agreed, laughing. "But transitions can be hard for everyone."

A heavy breath escapes him. " Yes they can be." It's a problem he'll have to be prepared for, especially if T'skyn ever steps down. but just now for tonight at least he'd rather put it on a back burner and enjoy himself.
He pauses then as they're about to pass up a stall, to eye up a plump stuffed runner toy. It's a little off looking in it's over stuffedness..but kind of cute. "What do you think of that?"

"Hm?" D'nel had almost walked on, but caught himself mid-stride. He used the momentum of the lifted leg to swing back around, leaning around T'rey's shoulder to look along his line of sight and spot the runner.
His mouth split into a sudden smile, and he hit the side of T'rey's arm. "Oh, I bet your little girl would love that. Good for a little kid to sleep with."

He smiles, pleased with the confirmation of the second opinion. And relived that D'nel seems un-bothered by the new information. "I think you're right." He makes the purchase and attempts to shove that fat little thing into the previously purchased shoulder bag. It almost fits...good enough.

It only nearly fits. D'nel tries to help, tucking in the string tail and the oddly vacant stare on the overstuffed face, but there's only so much that can be done, and he's chuckling to himself as he pokes an ear. His green twitters a little at all the motion, tail coiling over his throat posessively. "There we go."
Satisfied, he steps back, and grins. "That all your obligations?"

He wishes he could hide the thing away a bit better but this'll have to do. He gives the stupid doll and pat and smiles, looking up to meet D'nel's eye. "Yes I think that's all."

When their gazes meet, D'nel's lingers. His eyes are bright, the smile that curls the side of his mouth warm. "Sounds like its time to drop these off somewhere safe and take advantage of the Wine. I hear they have Bendan vintage."

His smile pulls to one side. "That is a perfect idea." The little blue had been getting a bit agitated over the green again when he realizes something needs to go else where and turns to chirp softly at T'rey who lifts a hand to stroke the thin neck. " Sorry little one, I think this is a bit to much for you to carry on your own."

D'nel's eyes spark, and he set back on his heels as he ran a hand down the back of his little green's neck. She perked up, peering at the bag from around his cheek, her tail starting to thrash once she spotted the little blue. "What about two of them? If she helps, I think they could manage it."
She stiffened in alarm, feeling the shape of his thoughts, and he cooed to her gently.
